The story of James King
James King pays tribute to the legacy of King James IV, widely acclaimed as Scotland’s first Renaissance King.
Renowed for his deep appreciation of whisky, King James’ charismatic influence extended far beyond the realm of spirits. He saw the inception of Scotland’s first navy and commissioned the building of the Palace of Holyrood house and Falkland Palace. Under his generous patronage, the Royal College of Surgeons and the University of Aberdeen were founded. His court became a beacon of enlightenment, a crucible of culture and learning, where education, once a privilege, became a right under his reign.
